A Journey into Andean Weaving Traditions

From Las Qolqas Eco Lodge we will drive upriver for 20 km along the Patacancha valley to the town that bears the same name. Many of the porters who work on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu come from here. Once there, we will visit various weaving centers and experience the way of life of the villagers, who still wear their traditional garb and have not changed their customs much during the last 400 years.

You will also have the chance to bargain a lot in the picturesque market, where its textiles are made by hand. You will then be taken to Willoq to visit another weaving center and enjoy a sumptuous plate of trout from the local fish farm.
